A New Beginning

The Kruskal-Szekeres coordinates define the topological space around a black hole using four variables that predict the behavior of any object within its gravitational field, but not beyond its event horizon. Past this boundary, any particle or electromagnetic radiation vanishes, swallowed by the singularity or the folding of space-time. Nonetheless, from an observer's perspective, an object crossing this frontier would appear to remain floating, eternally approaching this point of no return without ever reaching it. The closest known black hole to Earth is Gaia BH1 (formerly thought to be V616 Monocerotis), located approximately 1,500 light-years away, with a mass about 10 times that of our Sun.

A New Beginning tells the story of a group of astronauts who leave Earth in search of a new home where the human race can found a new world, following the recognition of the irreversible destruction of our natural, social, and geological ecosystems. Upon returning to Earth 200 years later, they realize they might be arriving far too late.
